How is it possible that our world was created in six days?
There are three main views of creation. One is that the Genesis account of creation is accurate—God created the Earth and everything in it in six days and then rested on the seventh. Evolutionists go to the other extreme and spout that a huge explosion in space began the process of developing life and everything has evolved from that. Then there are those who choose to take the middle ground and say that God is involved—He caused the world to exist—but that the six-day account is not literal.
In my opinion, it takes less faith to believe that Almighty God created the earth in six days—He could have done it in six minutes if He chose to—than to believe that some cosmic explosion is responsible for the life and beauty all around us. The creation story is not in conflict with science; it is in conflict with any worldview in which God is absent. When I look at a newborn baby, I cannot imagine a big bang, but I can imagine a loving creator.
The Bible gives no option other than the fact that God is the creator! Read the creation account in Genesis 1 again. You cannot believe part of the Bible and then reject other, more confusing parts. I don’t know how or why He created the Earth the way that He did. I just know that He said it, I believe it; that settles it!
